It was a friend’s place that Anjum
Sharda first came to know of Tupperware
and its direct selling business. That was
an ‘open sesame’ to a world
of entrepreneurship. Anjum is today the
only executive distributor in the country
and even has a mould named after her.
One of the six distributors who were flown
to Tupperware Worldwide Head Quarters, Orlando,
USA as a part of the 'Crown of Achievements
2002', Incentive Trip. Anjum admits that
the initial years were difficult: “My
relatives and friends helped me out but
gradually the product began to find takers
and before long I was working through the
week.” Enough for her to be promoted
to the distributor rank three years after
she joined as a consultant in 1996.
Interestingly, she’ll have you know
that before she took up the business her
scientist father-in-law tested the veracity
of the product!
Presently, with a team of over 100 managers
and her own office staffed with eight full
timers, Anjum can personally take credit
for having recruited over 4,000 women into
the business.
